Recruitment Notice: Post-doctoral 虎扑电竞er

Tohoku University's Institute for Materials 虎扑电竞 invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher position within its Magnetic Materials 虎扑电竞 Laboratory.

Position

Title: Post-doctoral 虎扑电竞er
Location: Institute for Materials 虎扑电竞, Tohoku University 2-1-1 Katahira, Aoba-ku, Sendai, Miyagi, 980-8577
Number of positions: 1
Start date: As soon as possible after October 2025

Job Description

The successful candidate will be involved in conducting experimental research focused on nano-magnetism and spintronics, two rapidly advancing fields with significant implications for future technologies. The primary area of investigation will be the dynamical stability of magnetization in isotropic magnets, a fundamental aspect of magnetism that plays a key role in the development of new materials and devices.

The research is funded by a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific 虎扑电竞 (A) from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). The post-doctoral researcher will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with leading experts in the field, including Prof. Hidekazu Kurebayashi at University College London. This collaboration will provide access to cutting-edge research facilities and the opportunity to engage in international exchanges, fostering an enriching environment for scientific development

About the Laboratory

The lab studies the magnetic properties of materials at the nanoscale, where electron spins play a key role in various phenomena. These properties differ from those found in larger magnets, allowing for the exploration of new possibilities. The research focuses on spintronics, a technology that enables the conversion between magnetic and electrical properties, as well as the development of advanced magnetic devices. To achieve this, techniques are used to control the structure of materials at the nanoscale, enhancing their functionality.

Key achievements include the creation of materials that convert spin into electrical charge, the development of spintronic devices using artificial antiferromagnets, improvements in energy conversion efficiency with the anomalous Nernst effect, and the creation of magnetic alloys that do not rely on rare or precious metals but still exhibit strong magnetic properties.
