On November 3, Japan's National Culture Day, the Faculty of Arts and Letters invites the public to bask in some traditional culture for the day at the Tohoku University Botanical Gardens. Entrance to the gardens is free and no registration is needed for the event.

Programme:

10:00am~1:00pm Outdoor tea ceremony
10:00~10:20am Koto (Japanese harp) concert
10:20~10:50am Shakuhachi concert
10:50am~1:00pm Koto (Japanese harp) concert
11:00am~12:20pm Guided tour of the gardens.
Meet on the lawn in front of the main building at 10:55am.

Public transport to the Botanical Gardens:

From Sendai Station, catch a bus from platform 9 at the west entrance bus pool.
Get off at "Tohoku Daigaku Kawauchi Campus Mae" and walk 10 mins to the Botanical Gardens entrance gate
